How to remove image metadata before sharing
Distinguish embedded fields from visible content and verify the result instead of trusting a filename alone.
Remove image metadata re-encodes an image without copying common EXIF and other metadata blocks. Depending on the source, this can remove camera model, capture date, GPS coordinates, embedded thumbnails and comments.
This operation does not anonymise visible pixels. A number plate, face, photographed address or screenshot containing personal data remains visible. It also cannot erase information retained by a publishing platform in its own database.
What result to expect
You will receive a re-encoded copy whose visible contents should be reviewed and whose metadata can be independently inspected.
